Carroll County Public Library is delighted to host “Making Sense of the American Civil War,” a five-part reading and discussion series. “Making Sense of the American Civil War,” a reading and discussion series, is a project of the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association. Additional support has been provided by the Maryland Humanities Council.

Special Panel Discussion with Senator Joe Getty

Senator Getty will lead a panel of scholars as they discuss the theme of War and Freedom. Although part of the larger discussion series, “Making Sense of the American Civil War,” all are welcome to register for this special discussion. This event is presented by Carroll County Public Library in partnership with Carroll Community College. “Making Sense of the American Civil War,” a reading and discussion series, is a project of the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association.
