Hugs & Stitches Crochet & Knit for Charity is a group of knitters and crocheters who meet each week to create scarves, hats, mittens, and afghans, all of which are donated to local charities. Anyone interested in helping must be at least a beginner crocheter or knitter. Please feel free to join them as they can always use more hands to help meet the growing need for these items. Although the group usually meets each week at Westminster Ridge, they will meet at the Westminster Branch the first Tuesday in January.

Leo Eaton, Emmy award-winning filmmaker and Series Director of Sacred Journeys with Bruce Feiler, which airs on PBS beginning December 16, 2014, will share his insights and challenges in filming six of the most celebrated and spectacular religious pilgrimages in the world, including the Hajj to Mecca, the Jewish Festival of Sukkot and walk in the footsteps of Jesus in Jerusalem, the Kumbh Mela in India, Lourdes in France, Shikoku in Japan, and the Osun Osogbo Festival in Nigeria. Modern pilgrims are taking part in the same profound and moving journeys that people have taken for hundreds, often thousands of years. Each is a compelling journey that reveals powerful emotional stories, ancient religious traditions, and breathtaking locations across four continents. The program will include film highlights from each segment. In partnership with Carroll Community College, the Community Media Center, Carroll Citizens for Racial Equality, and the Interfaith Council of Carroll County.
