Their sympathies and sentiments differed on the conflict, as she hailed from Baltimore. Their letters to each other are chronicled in the book The Bitter Fruits which was based upon the master's thesis of a descendant, then expanded and published by the Cumberland County Historical Society in 1998. The book will be available for purchase and signing. Refreshments will be served. A Celebrating America program.
