Alpacas are wonderful, curious, and luxurious animals that have become popular in the United States in the last 20 years. They are delightful livestock pets for families who would like to have gentle animals for children to manage, for teens to use in 4-H projects, and for adults to learn the wonders and income that can be gained from the fleece that is softer than cashmere, seven times warmer than wool, and hypoallergenic. Come meet a real live alpaca from the Alpacas of Maryland farm in Westminster, MD. Alpacas of Maryland has been in business for over eleven years, started by a family who had previously only owned cats and dogs. Alpacas of Maryland now breeds champion and blue ribbon alpacas, is involved in showing, breeding, fleece production, and community events. Come with all your questions, and see how the alpaca lifestyle is family friendly, fun, and a home business. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
