Are you the parent or caregiver of a small child looking for simple activities that can be stored in a bag so they are always ready to go? Join us in making an assortment of engaging activities that your child can do independently. You don’t even need to find a sitter to come to the program, bring the kids along! We’ll have toys out for them to play with while you create your set of busy bags to bring home. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Only adults need to register.

Through songs and movement, students learn a healthy message about taking risks and trying new activities. Award-winning Kindersinger Pam Minor will warm up the audience with several interactive songs where children are cued to participate through certain actions listed in the lyrics. A Port Discovery educator then facilitates an interactive hula hoop lesson, combined with song, dance, and physical movement. Only kids need to register.

Join Bear Branch Nature Center to meet some live animals, learn more about how they survive in the wild, and find out how to spot wildlife in your own backyard. Hugs & Stitches Crochet & Knit for Charity is a group of knitters and crocheters who meet each week to create scarves, hats, mittens, and afghans, all of which are donated to local charities. Anyone interested in helping must be at least a beginner crocheter or knitter. Please feel free to join them as they can always use more hands to help meet the growing need for these items. Although the group usually meets each week at Westminster Ridge, they will meet at the Westminster Branch the first Tuesday in January.

Drop in for Appy Hour, the first Tuesday of each month, for help with using FREE library apps such as Overdrive (e-books), Zinio (e-magazines), Mango (online language learning) and our newest app, hoopla (digital movies, audiobooks, and music)! Make sure to bring your device(s) with you for a personalized walk-through. Drop in anytime during the hour but remember that it is first come, first served. Refreshments will be served.
