Westminster Wine Stroll & Open House: Regina Mc Carthy

For Adults
Kick off the first ever Westminster Wine Stroll celebrating Maryland wines at the Westminster Branch. Regina Mc Carthy, author of Maryland Wine: A Full-Bodied History, will speak at 3 PM. Books will be available for purchase and there will be a book signing after the presentation. Join Al Spoler, Maryland wine expert and host of Cellar Notes on WYPR, at 4 PM as he provides a history of Maryland wines with a focus on Carroll County wine making. Sample wines from Loew Vineyards at the Westminster Branch from 5 to 8 PM. Library services will not be available after 5 PM. The Westminster Wine Stroll encompasses downtown Westminster. Take a stroll down Main Street from 4 to 8 PM where over 25 downtown businesses will welcome you for wine tasting with a Maryland wine, door prizes, or a chocolate treat. In partnership with the City of Westminster and the Maryland Wine Association.

Please join us for a library café conversation about how to encourage your child to scribble and draw to develop pre-writing skills. Creativity may be messy - come prepared to have fun. Hugs & Stitches Crochet & Knit for Charity is a group of knitters and crocheters who meet each week to create scarves, hats, mittens and afghans, all of which are donated to local charities. Anyone interested in helping must be at least a beginner crocheter or knitter. Please feel free to join them as they can always use more hands to help meet the growing need for these items. Although the group usually meets each week at Westminster Ridge, they will meet at the Westminster Branch the first Tuesday in May.
