Carroll County Public Library is delighted to host “Making Sense of the American Civil War,” a five-part reading and discussion series. This series is a project of the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association. Additional support has been provided by the Maryland Humanities Council.

Theme “War and Freedom” Book - America’s War – Part 5
This culmination event will present a panel of all the scholars led by Senator Joe Getty, and provide an opportunity for all participants to meet together and join in the discussion.

In addition, we will host a reception for participants to view the Civil War 150 exhibit from the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History at the Eldersburg Branch on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 7:00 PM.
