Join Prop, the Magic Bunny, as he and Mr. Lindsay amaze and amuse in this show loaded with audience participation. You never know what surprises await you! All attendees need to register. This program is sponsored in part by a Community Arts Development Grant from the Carroll County Arts Council and the Maryland State Arts Council. Service Learning Hours: KidWorks

KidWorks meets twice a month. At the 1st meeting we spend an hour planning a storytime for younger kids. At the 2nd meeting (7/25/2013 from 5:30-7:30 PM) we present the storytime. You must come to both meetings to earn 3 service learning hours.

Civil War Medicine, Battlefield Surgery, and Deadly Diseases

Kyle Wichtendahl, of the National Museum of Civil War Medicine, will discuss the importance of medicine in the American Civil War. Topics will include battlefield surgery, why disease was deadlier than shot and shell, and medical advances that were made during the Civil War that continue to save lives today. Mr. Wichtendahl will be dressed as a Union assistant surgeon and will have reproduction medical instruments and other artifacts to see and touch. A Celebrating America program.

Each quarter we'll select a topic - mystery, sci-fi, fantasy, etc. - and we'll discuss classic books from these unique genres. For the summer quarter we'll be reading a Pulitzer Prize winning novel.
