Laurie L.C.Lewis, local author and historical researcher, will discuss Francis Scott Key, the Battle of Baltimore, and the stirring details behind the writing of The Star Spangled Banner. Lewis will draw from material uncovered while researching her award-winning Free Men and Dreamers historical fiction series, which is set against the backdrop of the War of 1812. The series commemorates the bicentennial of the war and the writing of our national anthem. A Celebrating America program.
