The American Music Association defines Americana music as contemporary music that incorporates elements of various American roots music styles, including country, roots-rock, folk, bluegrass, R&B and blues, resulting in a distinctive roots-oriented sound that lives in a world apart from the pure forms of the genres upon which it may draw. Perhaps the best way to learn what defines Americana music is to listen to it, so join us in September for Americana concerts in the Mary Lou Dewey Sculpture Park. If it rains, the concert will be inside. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. A Celebrating America program.
