Banjo Roots: The Banjo's African American Origins and West African Heritage
For all ages
Musician, archivist and banjo roots researcher Greg C. Adams provides an interactive presentation covering the early history and development of the banjo. From its West African heritage, Caribbean development and North America transmission, the banjo is an iconic instrument whose complex history still surprises, challenges and pleases those who are willing to learn more about it. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Great Big Faces
For all ages
Join Maryland artist Paul Merklein as he draws great big faces! You will recognize these famous faces from children's books and current events. The audience even gets a chance to help by telling him what to draw next! While drawing, Paul talks about art and how he goes about creating these big famous faces. Come and enjoy the show! Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
