For ages 10 - Adults
Join Professor Cecilia Rubino of New York’s New School for a compelling workshop to improve memory while having fun with Shakespeare. Today, besides actors, few of us need to memorize anything. But studies on creativity suggest that new ideas are formed in the crucible of our memories and that memorization, or knowing things by heart, can contribute to unexpected connections and new thinking. This workshop will engage participants in the joy and challenge of memorization and acting Shakespeare! This event will be held at the Mount Airy Senior & Community Center, 703 Ridge Avenue, Mount Airy, MD 21771 (Adjacent to the Mt. Airy Branch Library) This program is sponsored in part by a Community Arts Development Grant from the Carroll County Arts Council and the Maryland State Arts Council.
