Join returning guest lecturer Gary Kavanagh for this four-week lecture series exploring how the competing political ideologies of World War I caused World War II. Gary will explain the outbreak of World War I, delve into the major battles and events, the peace settlement at Versailles and its aftermath, and review how the confrontation of the three great ideologies of the 20th Century, communism, liberal democracy, and fascism, led to the cataclysm of World War II. Gary holds a Master’s Degree in Modern European and Diplomatic History from GWU and taught secondary school in Prince George's County, Maryland. Gary has hosted several very popular history lectures here at the Westminster Branch.
