Come to the library and read a story to a book-loving dog. Research shows that children enjoy improving their reading skills by practice reading to animals. Struggling readers are encouraged to participate. Only kids need to register.

Charles Belfoure is a former professor at Goucher College, a freelance writer for the Baltimore Sun and New York Times, and an architect. The author will be discussing his first novel, The Paris Architect, which is being released in October. READ Local features a published author from the Carroll County community each month to meet and greet readers. Authors may have books available for purchase and signing.
