Service Learning Hours: KidWorks

KidWorks meets twice a month. At the 1st meeting we spend an hour planning a storytime for younger kids. At the 2nd meeting (3/27/14 from 5:30-7:30 PM) we present the storytime. You must come to both meetings to earn 3 service learning hours.

Vince Vaise, Chief of Interpretation at Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine and Hampton National Historic Site, will detail the causes of the War of 1812, why Baltimore was the subject of the British attack, and how soldiers, sailors, free African Americans, and civilians banded together to save their city. Audiences will learn how Francis Scott Key's words still resonate with us today. This program is made possible with funds from the Maryland Humanities Council. A Celebrating America program. All attendees need to register.
