A little push, a twist, a turn. Keep those little fingers busy and experimenting in our library Tinkertown. Fun, playful activities will engage the mind and body as your child builds their fine motor skills and creativity. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Only kids need to register. This program is sponsored in part by a Community Arts Development Grant from the Carroll County Arts Council and the Maryland State Arts Council. Come on in for an exciting program on animal adaptations. Participants will have a chance to learn about the behaviors and body parts that allow wild animals to survive in a variety of ways. You will also learn to identify animals by their pelts, tracks, and even their scat! After learning about animal survival behaviors, you can test your own survival skills as you become an animal in an interactive game.

For kids entering 2nd and 3rd grade. Put on your safety goggles and explore the exciting world of chemistry! Observe physical and chemical changes. Make crystals and watch raisins and popcorn dance. All children must be pre-registered to attend Science in the Summer classes. A parent or guardian must come in person to fill out and sign the registration form for his/her child. Child must be able to attend all of the classes that week (July 15 - 18). GSK Science in the SummerTM is sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and administered by American Association for the Advancement of Science in partnership with community-based organizations. Only kids need to register.
