CCPL believes that excellent library services should be available and accessible to all within our community and county. We understand and acknowledge that systemic discrimination exists today within libraries, and that past and present inequities exclude many from enjoying the benefits provided by a local public library.
In order to eliminate these barriers, seen and unseen, CCPL believes it is necessary to promote, explore and celebrate the history, perspectives and aspirations of all people. "All" includes, and is not limited to, people of every race, ethnicity, gender, color, age, national origin, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender expression, gender identity, socioeconomic status, education, marital status, language, and/or physical appearance.
To ensure our values of equity, diversity, and inclusion are made a reality throughout all areas, CCPL is committed to taking realistic but impactful steps towards the full integration of EDI principles in its organizational culture; resources, services and programming; business practices, and staff development.
CCPL's mission is to connect our community. We invite our community to join us to experience lifelong learning through impactful programs, services and resources.
This mission can only be achieved through sincere, coordinated, and intentional actions to counteract inequities in our culture and to create a genuine climate where any individual or group feels respected, supported, valued, and welcomed to participate fully and without the negative consequences of bias.
