Volunteer opportunities

There are many volunteer opportunities at the Carroll County Public Library. In our locations, volunteers play an important role by assisting with collection maintenance, and with program development. At library headquarters, volunteers help with various clerical tasks. Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age by the time they begin volunteering.

Service learning may be available for students who volunteer. Students are responsible for checking with their school to verify that their hours will qualify. For more information, contact your local branch.

Eldersburg

Teen Advisory Board
Calling all teens with a love of the library! Help us plan teen programming and influence our teen collections. We want you for our Teen Advisory Board! Need service hours? We’ve got those too! Eldersburg's Teen Advisory Board is now open to anyone age 12-18 who wants to join.

• Meetings are on the third Thursday of each month from 6:00-7:30 PM.

Mount Airy

Teen Advisory Board

• Meetings are on the last Tuesday of every month from 6:30-7:30 PM.

Taneytown

• Meetings are on the fourth Monday of the month at 6:00 PM.

Westminster

Teen Advisory Board
Calling all teens looking for leadership roles in planning library programs. We want you for our Teen Advisory Board! Need service hours? We’ve got those too! Participants can join us in person or log in virtually through Zoom by registering.

• Meetings are every fourth Monday of from 3:30-5:00 PM.

CCPL Writers’ Block blog
CCPL Writers’ Block is a place for teens to share reviews and opinions about books, music, games and movies. It is also a place to share art work and creative writing.

The Virtual Systemwide Teen Advisory Board meets via Zoom on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 PM, October through May. Registration opens two weeks in advance and the Zoom link is sent out the day of the meeting
