Decorate a Pumpkin for the Library

CCPL’s Taneytown Branch is opening its annual pumpkin decorating contest up to everyone! Participants who sign up will receive their own miniature pumpkin to decorate (without carving). All pumpkins must be picked up on Wednesday, October 15, and returned to the library by Monday, October 20. 

Finished pumpkins will then be displayed in the library. Vote for your favorite between October 22 and October 30. Winners will be announced on Halloween, October 31!

Branch History

The Taneytown Community Library opened as a branch of the Carroll County Public Library on January 9, 1969 in a storefront building on Baltimore Street. Ground was broken for a full-service branch on April 18, 1988. The Taneytown Branch at 10 Grand Drive opened to the public in February, 1989.

The 2008 renovation to the branch included a 5,000 square foot expansion and interior improvements
