If you have experience with Mah Jongg, either from our 101 class or from playing a little bit, come and practice with us. This session is meant for beginners who have already learned how to play. Experienced players are welcome to assist the new folks. We will follow the National Mah Jongg League rules of play. Please bring a 2026 National Mah Jongg League card. If you don’t have a card, one will be provided. Exercise your brain while having great fun!

The Deer Park Lions Club will be offering free vision screenings using their special screening camera to take one quick snapshot to test for nearsightedness, farsightedness, lazy eye, and more.

Branch history
The Taneytown Community Library opened as a branch of the Carroll County Public Library on January 9, 1969 in a storefront building on Baltimore Street. Ground was broken for a full-service branch on April 18, 1988. The Taneytown Branch at 10 Grand Drive opened to the public in February, 1989.
The 2008 renovation to the branch included a 5,000 square foot expansion and interior improvements.
