The longer class time is necessary for this program due to the long print times on this material. Fusion Pro Laser Cutter Certification is required prior to attending this program.
Learn more about these soldiers, now called the Maryland 400, and hear first-hand accounts of their actions at the battle, including comments from Carroll County's own Mordecai Gist. This talk will also discuss the lives of several soldiers from the unit, exploring them and their families during and after the Revolutionary War.
Owen Lourie is a senior archivist at the Maryland State Archives specializing in Maryland government and military history during the colonial era and early republic. He holds an M.A. in history from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and a B.A. from Kenyon College in American Studies. Owen is the director of Finding the Maryland 400, a research project studying the First Maryland Regiment. He is the author of "Maryland’s Jews, Military Service, and the American Revolutionary Era: The Case of Elias Pollock," an article which appeared in The Journal of Southern Jewish History, and is currently at work on a social history of the Maryland Line, chronicling the soldiers of the Maryland 400 during the Revolutionary War.

Join us for a casual, bi-weekly stitching club. All needle-crafters are welcome!
During the orientation session, we'll discuss project ideas, create goals, and set reasonable expectations for completion. You will work on this project on your own time and have access to up to two one-on-one sessions to review progress, discuss challenges, and get support for moving forward.
This session specifically focuses on projects using vinyl cutters, laser cutters, CNC machines, or 3D printers. Participants are responsible for providing or purchasing any materials needed for their project.
Special Note: All participants using the laser cutters or Iconic CNC machines for their projects must be certified before this program.
